Panzergeist (パンツァーガイスト Pantsā Gaisuto) is a field-type defensive spell of the Ancient Belka system, which does not have an Auto Guard system.

Panzergeist generates a defensive aura around the whole body, allowing the caster to effortlessly defend against shooting or even bombardment attacks. It however consumes a lot of mana and needs a high-level of skill when attacking at the same time.

Name

Panzergeist (or Panzer Geist) is German for "Armor Spirit" or "Tank Spirit".

Notable uses

• Panzergeist is first seen cast by Signum against Fate's Photon Lancer at the beginning of A's.
• In A's (ep.7), Signum uses it again in the combat with Fate in another dimension space. As Signum is attacking at the same time, she cannot cover her whole body with the spell, but only concentrates her defence at a point to rebound Fate's attack.^[1] The visual effect, however, looks like the Panzerhindernis barrier (in A's episode 2) instead.
• Vita casts it briefly in StrikerS to demonstrate the 3 types of defensive spells to Subaru.
